Shirodhara uses about a 1/2 a gallon of herbal oil for one treatment. Upon finishing the treatment, you will be given the oil to go home with. You are able to reuse this oil (only on yourself) for self-massage called abhyanga OR come back to book another treatment with your oil at a discounted price!

*Oil must be refrigerated & used within 2 weeks for second shirodhara treatment.

What is Shirodhara?

​

In Sanskrit ‘Shiro’ means "head" and "Dhara" means "flow". Shirodhara is an Ayurvedic therapeutic treatment where the practitioner guides a continuous stream of oil from a copper vessel on the "Ajna" or third eye and forehead region. The oil then streams down the crown chakra, top of head, which magnifies the senses and awakens the body's natural healing processes.

This gentle and rhythmic pouring of the oil induces a state of deep relaxation, promoting balance throughout the mind and body while offering various health benefits as it actively stimulates the nervous system, releasing neuro-hormones that help to regulate our mood, stress and energy levels. Supporting relief in symptoms such as anxiety, depression, stress, fatigue, hypertension, jet lag, headaches, migraines, head injuries, insomnia, overall improving mental clarity. Following the treatment individuals may experience heightened sensory perception with increased clarity in hearing, vision, taste, and smell.

​ Experience the healing power of Ayurvedic Massage where an initial 30-minute Mini- Ayurvedic assessment & pulse analysis will be done to better understand your body's Prakruti (birth constitution) & Vikruti (Any possible imbalances or elevated doshas). Followed by a 60 or 90 Minute Full Body Massage.

This treatment is specifically designed for your individual needs. An herbal Vata, Pitta or Kapha oil will be chosen based off of your dosha levels, aiding in restoring balance & harmony within the body. Breyana will assess what tools & therapies will be best suited for you upon analysis. (May include various therapies i.e., dry brushing, Hot scalp treatment, Scraping, Hot stones, cooling, heating or flushing treatments for VPK).
